Clonazepam 2 mg Tablets

Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine medication available as a 2 mg oral tablet, used for the management of anxiety disorders, panic disorder, and certain seizure disorders such as absence and myoclonic seizures. It acts by enhancing the effect of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter, which helps calm neural activity in the brain.

Key Features:

• Strength: 2 mg per tablet — typically reserved for moderate to high-dose requirements.
• Uses: Treats panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, generalized anxiety, and certain seizure types
• Onset & Duration: Effects begin within 1 hour, lasting 8–12 hours in adults

• Taken by mouth with water, with or without food, usually 1–3 times daily as directed
• Tablets should be swallowed whole; orally disintegrating tablets should not be pushed through foil
• Do not discontinue abruptly—tapering under medical supervision is essential to avoid withdrawal or seizure recurrence

Safety Profile & Contraindications:

• Contains a black box warning for risks of respiratory depression and sedation, especially when combined with opioids or alcohol
• High risk of physical dependence, tolerance, and withdrawal, especially with prolonged use >4 weeks.
• Not recommended in patients with acute narrow-angle glaucoma, severe respiratory conditions, or substance abuse disorders

Common Side Effects:

• Drowsiness, dizziness, coordination problems, fatigue, memory or focus issues, and depressed mood.
• More serious effects may include confusion, hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, allergic reactions, respiratory depression, or worsening seizures
