How It Works:
Ozempic® mimics the action of the GLP-1 hormone to stimulate insulin release when blood sugar is high, reduce the amount of sugar released by the liver, and slow gastric emptying to help you feel fuller longer.
Important Safety Information:
Ozempic® is not for use in people with type 1 diabetes or for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis. It is not recommended as the first choice of medicine for treating diabetes. Do not use Ozempic® if you or any of your family have a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or if you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and constipation.
